Basic wedding day info

 

 

This first section is just basic information about the wedding day! Here are a few tips to know beforehand:


  1. Make sure there is natural light in the room where the bride will be getting ready (window light). This makes a  WORLD of difference in your images!
  2. If possible, try to have all bridal details together before the photographer arrives. (Dress, jewelry, shoes, bouquet, gar ter, veil, etc) This will make the detail shots faster!
  3. Keep the area near the window free of trash, bags, snacks, etc. This will be where the bride will be putting on her  dress! We don’t need any Aquafina bottles in our bridal portraits :).
  4. 4. Allow more time than you think you need to get ready! It’s better to be safe than RUSHED!
  5. Try to steam your wedding dress the night before. Steaming it in advance allows the fabric to settle, whereas steaming the day of can cause it to hold creases more easily.
  6. One tip I always share with my brides: opt for clear drinks at your reception, just in case!

TIMELINE: Can you provide me with a timeline of the wedding day?If you’re sharing a FIRST LOOK, I will need to start shooting bridal details at LEAST 2.5 hours before the ceremony. 3 hours is recommended if there is no extensive travel time to the ceremony venue. If you’re working with a planner, they can forward this information to me if that’s easier. Email me if we need to go over this together! I’d love to help!

If you are sharing a first look, what is your preference on how private you’d like it to be? I have found on most wedding days, there is always a somewhat awkward conversation of whether or not bridesmaids and/or parents can watch from a distance , up close, or at all, This is your decision, and I am asking you in advance so that we can ensure that your preference is honored on your special day and that you don’t have to have any awkward conversations the day of. Please let me know if you would like your first look to be completely private, family and/or bridal party can watch from a distance, or anyone can watch from any distance.

Do you want to share a first look with anyone else besides the groom? (example: daddy/daughter first look) If so, do you prefer to see this person prior to the bride + grooms first look or after?

Yes—absolutely! You don’t need to worry about knowing what to do in front of the camera. I gently guide you throughout the day with natural posing and prompts so everything feels relaxed, genuine, and never stiff or overly posed. My goal is to help you feel comfortable so your real connection shines through.

What if our wedding goes over the time limit—will we be notified before any additional hours are charged?

Yes, if your coverage is running over the contracted time, I will always let you or your coordinator know before any additional time is added. This ensures there are no surprises and you can make an informed decision in the moment. Any additional time beyond the contracted hours is billed according to the rate outlined in your agreement.
